RHI Magnesita Presents Scholarship to Adult A-Tech Student

Savannah Caruso has found her passion in the Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) at the Ashtabula County Technical & Career Campus (A-Tech). Her drive to succeed has earned her a scholarship from RHI Magnesita of Saybrook.

RHI Magnesita started the scholarship last year to help the community of Ashtabula County in preparing all students pursuing programs in CAD/Solidworks, PLC or female students pursuing any technical subject programs.

RHI Magnesita is the global leader in refractories with the largest number of locations around the world and innovative, reliable products and services.

A-Tech Adult Workforce Development Director Ken Porter partnered with officials from RHI Magnesita to identify candidates. Caruso was selected as the winner of the $1,000 scholarship.

“I love the HVAC program. I work with a lot of diverse people who all have the same motive as me, and that is to get a good education while also trying to make a career out of HVAC. The environment is like no other traditional school and that has to do with having a great instructor that makes learning HVAC fun and educational,” she said.
