8th Graders visit A-Tech

Robotics Engineer. Acupuncturist. Software Designer. Concrete Finisher. Those are just a few of the hundreds of career opportunities 8th grade students learned about on field trips to the Ashtabula County Technical & Career Campus (A-Tech).

Eighth graders from Ashtabula County schools visited A-Tech during the month of October to explore careers.

“It’s a chance for students to be introduced to careers they may not be familiar with,” said Staci Zappitelli, Career Education Coordinator at A-Tech. “Students participate in engaging activities, working side-by-side with our A-Tech students.”

In all, nearly 1,000 students toured A-Tech and its 20 Career-Technical programs offered to high school students on campus. In addition to exploring careers, students learned about industry certifications offered along with the ability to earn college credit while enrolled at A-Tech.

Sophomores will begin visiting the campus for Sophomore Showcases next month. To learn more about the opportunities at A-Tech, call 440-576-6015 extension 1115 or visit www.atech.edu.
